Greetings Metro Denver Family Providers-
My name is Ana Cornelius and I am the OneHome Families Coordinator. The OneHome Team is pleased to announce that our OneHome Families system kickoff is this Tuesday August 1st!
As we wrap up the pilot (January – July 2017), I’d like to thank the agencies that participated in the pilot:
Aurora Mental Health Center Family Tree
Volunteers of America Colorado Warren Village
Colorado Coalition for the Homeless SPAN
Family Promise EFAA
Growing Home Denver’s Road Home
Staff from these agencies have worked diligently over the last six months to develop policies and procedures for the OneHome Family system. The process from assessment to matching to housing resource has been streamlined and we are now housing families at various housing providers across the region.
As we open the system to all family providers in Metro Denver, the OneHome Team has received feedback from several providers of a need for a triage tool to determine which families to assess using the F-VI-SPDAT. A work group is being created out of the participants from the OneHome Family meeting that occurs every second Tuesday of the month from 2-4 pm at Mile High United Way. The next meeting is Tuesday August 8 at 2:00 PM. All family providers are encouraged to attend, and provide feedback to the OneHome System.
After August 1st, staff at community agencies working with persons experiencing homelessness, may assess and enter families into the OneHome system if they completed a VI-SPDAT training in July. Future opportunities for training will be found at http://onehomeco.org/training/
Staff will want to consider:
Do you work with large numbers of families experiencing homelessness?
Do you have capacity at your agency to train a staff person to be a VI-SPDAT assessor?
Do you have capacity at your agency to maintain contact with the clients that you enter into the system?
Do you have capacity at your agency to have a staff person maintain communication with the OneHome system and to communicate information back to your agency?
If your answer is yes to these questions, you can refer to the OneHome website, Getting Started page at: http://onehomeco.org/getting-started/
If you answered no to these questions, you can refer clients to a referring agency. These can be found on the OneHome website at http://onehomeco.org/partners/
If this is not feasible, you can call 211 and schedule for a mobile assessor to come to you at http://onehomeco.org/211ma/
If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the OneHome Family System, please feel free to contact me at 303-312-9890, or via email at email@example.com.
Thank you for your time and we appreciate your involvement with the OneHome coordinated entry system!
